wedding photography questions

Q. Why should I book a professional photographer?

A. Photographing weddings is our full time job.  We have years of experience recognizing what will work and what will not for a particular venue, location or couple.  We are used to putting people at ease when we photograph them and working with every different combination of lighting and setting that we could possibly encounter.  We use the very latest professional equipment and bring along additional lighting should mother nature not co-operate on the day.

A wedding is a challenging environment for a photographer because as well as ensuring total coverage of the day for the bride and groom there is a huge factor of interacting with guests, suppliers and venues to make sure that all the events of the day are fully recorded.  It is not possible to be a relaxed guest and a photographer at the same time, trust us, we’ve tried it!

Q. How many photographers will be photographing my wedding?
A. there are two photographers included as standard both Barrie & Bev will photograph your wedding.

Q. How many photographs will we receive?

A. Your proof book will contain at least 300 individual images, These are the very best pictures taken on the day and each print will be individually corrected and presented in colour or black and white depending on which best suits the mood of the image. As each print is individual and we do not include many different versions of the same shot you should expect to love every one.

Q. What about group shots?

A. We understand that all couples will want some group shots and we generally take these at the reception venue once everyone has had a chance to congratulate you and grab a glass of bubbly. We will ask you to nominate a responsible person to round up the relevant people and to provide us and the usher with a list of groups in advance of the wedding. We advise that you keep the groups to under six to enable this part of the day to take as little time as possible.

Q. We would like some special photographs of the two of us, is this possible?

A. Absolutely. We will take the bride and groom to one side two or three times throughout the day and evening. This will allow us to photograph you in different locations and make the most of the changing light throughout the day. All couples enjoy these fun, relaxed sessions as it gives them a few minutes together away from the noise and bustle of the day.

Q. How long does it take until I can see my photographs?

A.  Within 48 hours we will post a few images from your wedding on our blog.  As soon as the complete set of images is ready they will be loaded into a password protected gallery.  You can then give friends and family the password for viewing at your convenience.

Q. How long does my album take to produce?

A. Once you have decided on the images you would like in your album, it takes around seven days to produce the layout. You will have a chance to see a PDF of the album layout and make any changes you like prior to going to print. From the time we order the album, it takes approximately four to six weeks for your final album to be produced. This includes the time it takes for your album to be made and shipped from Australia and the time spent in the studio constructing the album.

Q. I would like to book you to photograph my wedding. What do I do next?

A. Please contact us to check we are free on your wedding date. Most couples come to see us before booking to view completed albums and our wedding slide show although this is not essential. You will be asked to complete a booking form and pay a retainer of £500 to secure the date. The final payment is due four weeks before the wedding date.

At a convenient time and location between booking and your wedding date, we will arrange to meet for a portrait session. This gives us a chance to get to know each other better and give you some stunning photographs to keep or give to family and friends. It is becoming very popular to have a large engagement portrait for guests to sign or incorporating a photograph into wedding stationary. We can advise on either of these opt
